    Laws - View Law: SEATBELTS

The law says that everyone in the front seat of a vehicle has to wear a seat belt. Sometimes a seat belt is called a vehicle restraint. It is the driver’s responsibility to make sure that any passenger in the front seat under the age of sixteen uses the vehicle restraint. (ARS 28-909)

    This includes the following:

    • Have the lap and shoulder belt properly adjusted and fastened while the vehicle is in motion.
    • If only a lap belt is installed where the occupant is sitting, have the lap belt properly adjusted and fastened while the vehicle is in motion.

I know I'm an old guy but I was searching the 'net for information about Peri Laguna's death and I came upon this site and I read a few comments from people who thought that seat belts should be a personal choice and I figured I'd better get my two cents in. When I was getting my license - in 1970 ! - the driving instructor was a retired cop who said he never wore a seat belt because he'd responded to auto accidents where the victims died in the car fire because they couldn't get the seatbelt off. So for YEARS I didn't wear a seat belt. Then when I was in my late twenties, I watched a tri

Hello what most of you aren't uunderstanding is that yes using a seltbelt should be your choice since its your care but the is inforced to save lives not to collect money. Although that may be true. The same way the government doesn't really want people to stop smoking they think money, not lives.
