Question: What is the curfew in the city of Mesa for teens ages 16 and up?

Answer:

Mesa city ordinance #2825 says that anyone under 16 must be home from 10 pm to 5 am.  The rule allows persons 16 to 18 to be out until midnight.

There are some exceptions.

  • legally emancipated minors
  • minors accompanied by a parent or guardian
  • minors who are working with the permission of a parent or guardian
  • medical and other emergencies
  • minors with parent's permission who are attending or returning home from functions sponsored by or related to religious, school, civic, or nonprofit organization like: services, classes, meetings, dances, social events, dramatic or musical performances, and sporting events.

Violating this law is a misdemeanor, and the penalties include a fine up tp two thousand five hundred dollars ($2,500.00) or imprisonment for up to six (6) months, or both fine and imprisonment. (passed 10/93)

when your a teenager your starting to have more responsiblities. one of these is making some of your own decisions. parents arent always right and sometimes its necessary to go against their rules. and personally im insulted that you think we dont know anything. todays youth is smarter than todays adults ever will be what with the larger amount of knowledge and technology.
