Question: What is emancipation?

Answer: Emancipation means that you are legally free from your parents or legal guardian. Once emancipated you have many of the same rights and obligations as an adult.

In 6 months I will turn 18. There is no abuse in my house or anything like that. My mother and I do not get along. She has not provided a stable place to live in the past few years. I am working and will be returning to school this year as a Senior. Can I get emancipated?

I want to get emancipated i've wanted to since i was 3 but i dont think i can in minnesota my mom keeps going to jail rehab and i have to go to foster homes but i dont want to go through that anymore she hits me and stuff and she makes me feel so held back i want to do something wiith my life but i cant being with her is there a way i could be emancipated? please help
