Question: Do I have to go to court for a hearing if I want to be emancipated?
Answer: When you file your petition for emancipation the court will set a hearing within ninety days. You must be at the hearing and you may have a lawyer present to represent you. Your parents or guardian will also receive notice of the hearing.
