Question: What are the laws concerning jobs for 13-year olds?

Answer: The Fair Labor Standards Act states that the minimum age for employment is 14 years old. A 14-year old that is a full-time student would be allowed to work in a retail establishment as long as the employer has obtained certifications from the Department of Labor. A business could be fined $10,000 for hiring someone under the age of 14. The age requirements for agricultural employment are slightly different.

I am too dissapointed in the fact that there is no outside (non family) jobs for people like me. I'm 12 years old and have a job with great pay from my parents. The problem is, the job involves physical labor. I'm really angry at the fact that most people base you off of your physical biostructure instead of just your intelligence. I really hope I can find a job sometime soon but it seems the only ones I can get are either from parents or acting. I'd rather not. Also I'd just like to point out that most of you keep spelling simple words wrong. Please try to at least sound mature.
