Question: What are the laws concerning jobs for 13-year olds?

Answer: The Fair Labor Standards Act states that the minimum age for employment is 14 years old. A 14-year old that is a full-time student would be allowed to work in a retail establishment as long as the employer has obtained certifications from the Department of Labor. A business could be fined $10,000 for hiring someone under the age of 14. The age requirements for agricultural employment are slightly different.

I believe that 13 year ols should be able to have jobs also! My parents are dying for me to get a job right now, but i am just to young! They want me to buy my own things, but i cant because i dont have a job! And i want to help them pay hteir bills, but i cant because i dont have a job. I also believe that they need to ask us 13 year olds what we want to do, and if we win the debate we should get what we want!

Yes I do think 13year olds should be able to have a job. I mean right now I'm broke, and I need some money. Theirs things that I want to buy too, but I don't have the money, and my parents don't have the money right now either. 13 year olds should be able to work too.

well, my opinion is i think 13yr. olds should work. because we need money too and sometimes our parents dont have the money to buy us the stuff we need so in that case we can get our own jobs and work just like everyone else and earn money and buy what we need ourselves.
