Question: What are the laws regarding mandatory breaks at work?

Answer:

There are no laws or regulations in Arizona covering breaks and lunch hours either for adults or for children. However there are federal labor laws that cover breaks.

i agree with kristi -- i believe employees should have at least two fifteen minute breaks and half hour of lunch break to perform better at work. some people work eventhough they are ill or handicapped because they need to live. it depends which view you are looking from: the "poor employee needing to work" view or the "ambitious employers" view.

Agreed. That should be illigal. Look up federal laws, maybe it is.

I think that if you work outside for 8 hours in 110 degree temperatures, you should get a break. There should be a federal law providing at least 2 15-min. breaks thru the day. What a bunch of bull!!
