I believe there is a law stating that you have to drive with so called "close toed" shoes. My sister was driving and got pulled over for speeding. the cop asked for her to get out of the car and she ended up getting a ticket for not wearing shoes. She was living in Colorado at the time. I would just stay safe and wear shoes however im not sure if that was just a state law because the ticket for no shoes was $200
