Question:

How old do I have to be and where can I get a work permit?

Answer:

The Industrial Commission may, by regulation, declare ay occupation to be dangerous, or injurious to the health and morals of persons under sixteen years of age and prohibit the employment or allowance to work in, about or in connection with the occupations by such persons unless a variance is granted. There are many restrictions for minors under 18 years of age The best course of action is to contact the Director of Labor at the Industrial Commission in your state. For Arizona the Industrial Commission numbers are 602-542-4653 or 602-542-4515. Explain your situation and what type of work you are seeking. Your potential employers and perhaps you also, will probably need to fill out some paperwork (application for variation) depending on the type of job, the number of hours, and environment that the job is located in.

Hey im 13 i really want a job . Im trustworthy and nice . You can trust me with anything . I no how to cook and clean and im good with kids . I wanna babysit but i dont no where to go to get the job .i want an everyday job not one when you only go when you feel like it i want to hsve the responsibilities of an adult . Im just as good as the rest and i think all kids from 12 + should get jobs like working at an icecream shop or a dollarstore . We need jobs to have something to do there are so many stores closing its not funny and if they were to hire us it would be just as good as an 18 yr old

I think since you have become a "teen" you should be able to get a job. I mean, all kids at age thirteen want to get more pricier things and they can't always go running to their parents for money. Like I am into paintball and anybody who plays knows how much things are. Also, I think it should be your grades that matter too. If you get good grades I think it shows that you are capable of doing work!!!
