Question:

How old do I have to be and where can I get a work permit?

Answer:

The Industrial Commission may, by regulation, declare ay occupation to be dangerous, or injurious to the health and morals of persons under sixteen years of age and prohibit the employment or allowance to work in, about or in connection with the occupations by such persons unless a variance is granted. There are many restrictions for minors under 18 years of age The best course of action is to contact the Director of Labor at the Industrial Commission in your state. For Arizona the Industrial Commission numbers are 602-542-4653 or 602-542-4515. Explain your situation and what type of work you are seeking. Your potential employers and perhaps you also, will probably need to fill out some paperwork (application for variation) depending on the type of job, the number of hours, and environment that the job is located in.

i think its stupid to cause alot of 15 year olds are mature than some 16 year olds,we need jobs to,were in highschool, not grammar school,at high school grade you should be able to get a job ,when you turn 13 you get mature, and 14 your all the way there and when we want to work that lets you know were ready for the responsibility, and work to potential,im smart you know i wanted a job since i was 12 and im 15 now and im tired of waiting i'll be 16 in november that a lot of time to be waiting for a job.

well i think that kids the age of 15 should be able to get a job anywhere because in some states there are not always grasses to cut or snow to shovel, thats more work than sitting behind a counter saying "do u want fries with that" and they can't base everything on danger because everything is just as dangerous as the next if u think about it. i hope someone with some authority reads this because this law needs to be changed
