Question: On job applications, are juveniles required to say to shoplifting if they shoplifted but already paid a fine?

Answer: Generally, there is no criminal law regarding employment applications. However, employers do have a right to ask about criminal convictions. Lying on a job application could be grounds for being fired. In other words, it is not a crime; but like lying, it can catch up with you.

last nite i was caught shoplifting. I was so scared but i barely cried. My mom was with me. They asked her to come with me when they took me to the office. She was balling her eyes out. This was my first time. I really did suck at it. I can't believe this will be with me for the rest of my life.
