Question: I am 17 and am a father to a 2 month old little girl. I want to be responsible for my daughter so when I graduate I will get a job. How much of my paycheck should I give my daughter for childsupport? I want it to be the right amount she is entitled to and nothing less.

Answer:

The amount someone pays for child support is determined by a Court, and is different depending on your specific circumstances.  However, the Arizona Court System has an Arizona Child support calculator website that you can use for an estimate of what your child support payments will be.

Wow, you're amazing! So many young fathers care nothing about their children and just leave them to die or for their wives to do everything. It's really awsome that you wat to help with the baby. Of course, it would be better if you went to college, so you could get a job when you graduate, then try to work your job and go to college at the same time, if it isn't too much for you. Your wife is very lucky to have someone like you!

That's awesome that you actually care. There are so many guys who act like they had nothing to do with having the baby, and take no responsibility for it. I can tell you're going to be a good dad!

This is a comment for Bub in Arizona. I can't believe you said don't throw your money away on a baby. The baby is already born, that remark makes you sound ignorant. If he willing to help take care of a child he helped bring into this world then let him. Yes that is a young age to have a child, to late. You are the reason so many children go with out child support and have the mothers raising them on there own. I guess it's better for the mother to collect welfare then receive child support!!!!

I commend you for your stand on taking responsibility and taking care of your child. in this age, there are so many times where people do not take responsibiity for their children and it's heartbreaking. i have a dhild and eventhough i make a great living and my family is supportive, this does not mean that i made this human being on my own. whether i dont need the money and the funds are going into a college acocount for this person created, all the better. you bring back hope for this generation. you are in for a long road, but certainly a rewarding one. God Bless you

I have a baby too, she is only 9 months old and I just have to let you know that I think its really great of you to take care of your responsibilities. Many young fathers do not plan on taking the responsibility of a new baby and expect the mothers support and raise them alone. You are doing a great thing by being interested in paying child support!
