Question: Do I have to give an answer to my boss to why I'm not coming into work that day/night? What Arizona laws do you have to back up your answer (if one is given) thanks,

Answer:

The laws pertaining to not coming to work are limited. It may be important to realize, though, that Arizona Revised Statute 23-1501 states that any employee remains working at his job at the pleasure of their employer unless there is a contract stating other conditions.

Two other statutes relating to the employee's right to take time off work are A.R.S. 13-4439 andA.R.S. 8-420 , but in both of these statutes the employee is required to inform the employer of the situation:
