Question: At my place of employment some money has gone missing. The loss prevention officer accused me of taking the money and told me to confess or he will call the police. It is well known that the former store manager assigned the same alarm code to several employees and that night workers (like me) are not allowed per company policy to make night deposits. I told this to the loss prevention officer and told him that we have found deposits just lying around the store on several occasions because store managers had not made deposits. I told him to call the police and file a report. Was that right?

Answer: You are right that no one should confess to a crime he/she did not commit.

Wow. They didn't even answer your question. That wasn't even the question you asked. I think you are right. They should have called the police and had a real investigation. What kind of place lets money go missing and doesn't call the police? You shouldn't work for people like that.
