Question:

What happens if an underage student is caught with a gun? Whats happens to his or her parents?

Answer:

Under A.R.S. § 13-3102(A)(1) it is unlawful to carry a concealed weapon without a permit to do so.  If found guilty, under this subsection of the statute the individual (student or adult) may be convicted of a Class 1 misdemeanor and could face up to six months in jail.  If an individual were to carry a concealed weapon onto a school campus and be found guilty, it would be a violation of A.R.S. § 13-3102(A)(12) and would also be a Class 1 misdemeanor, however, if there were other circumstances under which the individual possessed the gun it could be charged as a Class 6 felony with a maximum possible penalty of 2 years in prison.

I think the punishment for carrying a concealed weapon should have a harder punishment. Do the parents get in trouble also? I think they should have the same punishment.
