Question:

Is there anyway to get someone kicked out of a public school? like get people to sign a petition saying they want her kicked out of the school. anything???

Answer:

Public education is a fundamental right in this state.  That means, if you are going to take away that right, you can only do so for a good reason and only then after you follow all of the required legal procedures.  The student would have to have violated school policy or something in the student handbook.  (We are talking a serious violation in order to justify the punishment of being expelled – usually it involves school safety issues such as bringing a weapon or drugs to school).  Even then, the student would have what we call “due process” where they have a right to know what charges are against them and have a right to dispute those charges, all in front of an impartial officer (like a judge).  Ultimately, it would be the school board that would approve the recommendation for expulsion

In other words, no one gets kicked off “this island” simply because they are a pain or they aren’t liked.  No petition can get a student kicked out of school.  There has to be a pretty good reason.
