Question: I can't seem to get an answer to this question so I thought I would ask here. What are the penalties, for a 21 year old, for being found drinking in public in the state of Arizona? meaning not drunk and disorderly or having any relation to a vehicle just drinking from an open container.

Answer: The following statutes are provided as an educational resource. If you over 21 and have been found drinking in a public place in Arizona, you may want to consult with an attorney.

A.R.S. § 4-244 (20) states that it is unlawful for a person to consume alcohol in a public place. There are specific subsections within that statute that pertain to underage drinking.  A.R.S. § 4-246 discusses violations of provisions within title 4 of the Arizona Revised Statutes.
