Question:

Hey, my neighbors cause trouble and during Christmas, we had an inflatable igloo in our front yard. One night they came by and poked holes in it with their cigarettes. They also carved inappropriate language into the igloo. Now it doesn't blow up anymore. What should happen to them? What should happen (if anything) to us?

Answer:

Your question deals with property damage. If your neighbors  damaged your igloo (a form of your property) on purpose,  there is a law called A.R.S §8-344 which would make the parents of your neighbors responsible for the damage, even if the parents didn't know about the incident. For any kind of legal action, you would have to be able to prove beyond doubt that your neighbors actually damaged your property, which can be tricky . However, since your neighbors parents are responsible under state law for their childrens actions (if they are under 18),  and would have to pay you money if the case went to court and you won, you or your parents might consider talking to their parents and letting them know what happened.
