Question:

is a carpool lane ticket considered a moving violation and go on your record as one?

Answer:

To find out whether this violation goes on your record, you may want to contact the Arizona Motor Vehicles Division. A.R.S. § 28-737 says that a person shall not drive a vehicle carrying less than 2 people (including the driver) in a carpool lane at any time that the lane is limited to carpool only.  If a person violates this law , then that person is subject to a penalty of $200. This law doesn't apply to a person who meets the requirements of A.R.S. § 28-2416, by driving an alternative fuel vehicle with an alternative fuel special license plate .
