Arizona law (A.R.S. § 13-301) says that an accomplice is someone who asks or orders another to commit a crime, helps another commit a crime, or provides a means for another to commit a crime. Under Arizona Law (A.R.S. § 13-303), someone who is an accomplice is fully accountable for the conduct of the other person, just as if he had committed the crime.

So, if you knew that your friend was going to break into the car, and either encouraged your friend to do it, or were the getaway driver, you could be charged for the break-in. Possible charges could be attempted theft of the vehicle and/or its contents, or vandalism if your friend damaged the car.

This is true even if your friend is not charged with anything.
