Answer: In Peoria, Arizona it is against the law for kids between 16 and 18 years old to be out in public places of the city between midnight and 5 a.m. without being accompanied by an adult over 18 years old. For kids under 16, the curfew is 10 p.m. and 5 a.m. Curfew does not apply to a kid on an emergency errand for their parents nor does it apply to kids heading directly to or from work or an organized and supervised activity (such as church).
Also, it is against the law in Peoria, Arizona for parents to allow their children to stay out past curfew.
Kids caught out past curfew is guilty of a class one misdemeanor and can be fined $50 to $150 plus fees and have to perform mandatory community service or educational programs. Parents found guilty of allowing their kids to stay out past curfew are guilty of a class one misdemeanor too, and can be fined $100-$250. Parents might also have to pay extra fees related to the City's court costs and might have to preform community service, counseling, educational programs or even be placed on probation.

Kids do have plans @ night. Many might that we don't but we do. Teens should be given the right to stay out late if their parents allow it and if they are not causing any harm. We like to party just like everyone else we like stay out just like everyone else. If we're stripped from that rigth than whereis it going to stop. Next thing you know they're going to tell us what to read, watch, listen, etc. I believe that the curfew has no effect & is just an excuse so we don't bother adults when they are out. The curfew should be banned or made a later hour.

What is the difference between a person whom is 17.5 and an 18 year old? They are both 12th graders, but the 17 year old has to go to jail if his mom lets him stay out until 12:30. These laws just give kid-hating police officers the right to arrest you for doing nothing, driving home. IF you are 17 almost 18 driving on your way home and it is 12:10 AM, the rude cop with too much coffee will take ou to jail, is that justice?
