Question: What are the requirements to become President?

Answer: The United States Constitution outlines the requirements for President in Article 2. This article of the U.S. Constitution also outlines the many powers of the President and Executive branch of government.

Section 1 of Article 2 of the U.S. Constitution states that a President must:

  • be a natural born citizen of the united States
  • be at least 35 years old
  • have lived in the U.S. for at least 14 years

In addition, the 22nd Amendment to the U.S. Constitution states that a President may not serve more than 2 terms of 4 years each, even if they have only served as President for 2 or more years of one of those terms.

I think that Bush was not as bad as everyone thinks. I definately think most of the people who hate Bush have the right to an opinion, but you DON'T have to say stuff like how horrible he was. Unless you know the different things that CONGRESS did while Bush was in office. I'm not a republican or a democrat. I change as different issues come up.

No one should jump into judgement so soon. If we managed to dealt with Bush for 2 terms, I think we should give President Obama the benefit of the doubt. This country wasn't doing too great way before he came into office. At least he is doing what he believe that will pull this country together and helping the lower income citizens instead just helping the wealthy get weathier. ^_^

Please explain to me why our new president, Mr. Obama does not meet two of the three requirements to be the president of the United States?! In my opinion, I believe that it is illegal and I believe that he was only voted president becasue he would be the first African American president.

i dont know why everybody blames bush for our bad economy. its not his faut. you cant blame just one person. its mostly the democratic congress. plain and simple: democrats have no political sense at all. obama has done no good for our country in his extremely short 2 year political carreer, and never will.
