Question: I got a ticket for a MIP. They let me just pay a ticket when i went to court without pleading guilty or anything. I paid it without even seeing the judge. Will I lose my license? Or did i not even have to see a judge?

Answer: Essentially what you did is plead guilty because you paid the fine. Sometimes you can just pay the fine and not see the judge.

If the judge wanted to suspend your license he or she could have done it. If it was suspended, you would have received some papers from the judge or from the Motor Vehicle Department. If you didn't receive anything from the Court or MVD, then your license probably isn't suspended. Be careful though, if you are caught for this crime again, you will lose your license until you are 18. (ARS 28-3320(7)).

This is to Tom. I have done the same thing with a speeding ticket. I got the ticket when I was seventeen, but I turned 18 before the court date. Yes the will know that you are only 17 and you will have to have a parent or guardian with you. About the whole lying situation...if the cop saw your licence then he knew you were 17. Good Luck!

I just got back from court for my M.I.P. Not only did I get a $255 fine, but I also recieved 12 months probation (I have to pay the probation people $50 a month!), 20 hours of community service (it sucks), and I was ordered to undergo an alcohol evaluation.

you will get in trouble for your MIP. i just got sentenced today for mine. if this is the first time you've gottin into trouble, they will allow you to differ it, which is a lot better. after 3 months in my case, its gone... my name is cleared of everything. go for that. pleading not guilty isnt worth the risk of the court proving your guilty. then you'll loose your license for NO LESS THAN 3 months. they told me at least a year. think about it. at best its your word against a cops. how many teenagers do you think stood in front of that judge and told them they didnt drink? even if your judge
