Question: What would happen (step by step) if a cop pulled you over and you had drugs?
Answer: The person with the drugs would be placed under arrest and the drugs would
be seized as evidence. The car would be searched. (Depending on situation, the car could be
towed, parked and locked, or even seized.) The Officer should then interview the Juvenile caught with the drugs (and possibly anyone else in the car).
Afterwards, the Officer could;
1. ...call a parent or responsible adult to respond to the scene of the stop. From there, the arrested juvenile would be released to their parent. The Juvenile Court would later notify the parent(s) and Juvenile when to appear for trial.
2. ...transport the Juvenile to the Police station. The Officer could then call a parent or responsible adult to respond to the scene of the stop. 3. ...transport the Juvenile to a detention facility where the Juvenile would be incarcerated. It would then be up to the Detention center to contact parent(s). The Juvenile Court would later notify the parent(s) and Juvenile when to appear for trial.

The truth is people like this are not hassled at all; they become subjected to police investigations because these types of views get translated into lifestyle decisions (errors) such as drug use which often times occurs on a daily basis. They usually wreak of marijuana (a clue). The concept of search incident to arrest allows for the search of a car's passenger compartment INCLUDING CONTAINERS (i.e. glove compartments). Don't play lawyer; just quit breaking the law.

Police officers don't make you stand back during a vehicle search because the don't want you to watch them; it's an officer safety issue. Think about it. I'm turning my back and exposing my gun to a person I don't even know, so I want them right behind me? Does this make sense? It's unfortunate that some people have negative attitudes about the police. Police work hard to protect people; there's nothing that satisfies us more than to catch that person who took your car or broke into your home. But even if you persist with your bad attitude, it's okay..when you need us we'll still come.

First off, the cop has to have darn good reason to even begin to search your car (or you even) -- i know when i was 16/17 the cops were bad in my neighborhood - they had nothin else to do but hassle us. Anyways, they would pull us over and hassle us, hoping we'd slip up -- we never did. Now yes, it's true, in the US, cops have the right to search us, BUT, it doesn't always guarantee they can. The rule of thumb I was always taught was if you have nothing to hide, there is no reason to not let them, problem with that is, so many dumb laws get made and passed without the John Q Public knowing,

i was pulled over yesterday and charged with possesion of 10g of pot and a pipe, i wasnt placed in handcuffs but my mom was called to the scene, i reveived a notice to appear in court. im gonna plead no contest and see what happens, hopefully this dosent hinder my plan of moving to cali next month.
