I too have parents who, when I finally get a little bit of money, try to get me to give it to them. You need to realize that even though they are your parents, you don't owe them anything. You're 20 years old and they don't even need to know when you've saved your money. Save your money, get counseling, and move out. You're a nice person to want to help them, but they are definitely abusing your relationship.

I have attempted suicide as well, and my family turns me away. I want OUT! I can't do anything until I get out of college, and they want me out now!

My father molested me when I was little & my mom physically & emotionally abused me after he left us. I ran away so many times but life was tough on the streets - it was almost better at home(warm bed to sleep in & food to eat). After years of abuse, I was finally put into foster care - Thank God. It's been over 15 years & my mom hasn't changed at all. She's still verbally abusive & takes no responsibility for her behavior (past/present). It's amazing how parents can make us feel worthless & like it's all our fault. I just want to tell you to stay strong & don't lose faith in yourelf.

Hi I have an abusive mom, she is mentally abusive, but she used to be both physically and mentally abusive but now im bigger than her so she isnt so physically abusive anymore. but still equally or more physically abusive but she ether gives me a guilt trip or threatens to call the police so im scared and confused. I have attempted suicide many of times in the past but it just dosent seem to help just make it worst. what can I do to fix or get away from this problem??

I went through similar things to what you are going through. My mother twisted my mind, put enormous guilt trips on me tried to shift the burden and the blame for the bad life we had on to me. Sucked me emotionaly and mentally dry till I tried to commit suicide multiple times .I also suffered sexual abuse from people who she should have protected me from. She has now got all my family believing that I'm making it up.In the end she kicked me out because I finally challenged her. Please get out,don't feel sorry for her she obviously never felt sorry for you. Get proffesional help for your future
