    Question:

What is the curfew for Surprise, AZ?

    Answer:

The curfew for any minor in Surprise is between 10:00 p.m. and 5:00 a.m., Sunday through Thursday, and between 12:00 midnight and 5:00 a.m. on Friday and Saturday. To see the requirements and exception, see Sec. 34-106 of the Surprise Municipal Code.

There are exceptions to this curfew such as if you are attending an official school, religious, or other recreational activity supervised by adults and sponsored by the city,  involved in an emergency, or if you are going to or returning from work.

I think that curfew is ridiculous, because people should be responsible for themselves.

i have lived in a town that did not enforce a curfew all my life and then a year ago i move to surprise and i learn that my parents are no longer in charge of what time i should be home. I think the government should not tell our parents what time we have to be home. I have spent my life building the trust that my parents have for me, they know i can be trusted so why should they not be allowed to let me stay out on weekends till 1? Another point i have is that curfews don't reduce crime they just put a time limits on it.

What is a minor constituted as for this law? I'm 18 and my dad swears that this law applies to teenagers 18 AND younger. Personally, 10:00 is WAY too early and doesn't allow for fun; on the other hand, it prevents ongoing parties, etc.
