Question: Do I have to go to court for a hearing if I want to be emancipated?

Answer: When you file your petition for emancipation the court will set a hearing within ninety days. You must be at the hearing and you may have a lawyer present to represent you. Your parents or guardian will also receive notice of the hearing.

If you can prove to the judge you can support yourself without your parents, and your parents are willing to sign, do they have to come to court with you, or do they just sign the papers after you have proved to the judge that you are fiancially stable?
