Question: If I am 18, and my girlfriend/boyriend is only 16 is it a crime for us to have sex?

    Answer:

Yes, in Arizona. With rare exceptions it is illegal to have any sexual contact with anyone under 18, even if that person “consents” and even if you are the same age or younger (ARS §13-1405).

i think that age is nothing but a number.if u love a person it doesnt matter the age.and if your parents are oka with it then why sould they care.if they fell happy with that person well then let it be.there is to much of it going on so they really cant do nothing about it .i think there should only be a issue if is rape and it doesnt have one of thier concent.but if they love each other let it be

I believe that if a young female has sex with a man 18 years or older, she too should suffer the consequences. The law stating that it is illegal is pointless, because there are too many females and males that are breaking this law everyday. To me age is nothing but a number and sex is just a feeling. If I personally wanted to have sex with someone older I could do it because no one can punish him or me unless I turned him in. Also, no one would be able to do anything about it because no one would found out unless I tell someone that believes in this law.

Umm, in most states it's about the age _gap_, not absolute ages. In my home state (washington), the gap is 4 years if you're over 14 (or rather, 48 months). An 18 year-old could have sex with a 14 year-old legally. THe gap is smaller with younger people. 14 and 12 is legal, but not 15 and 12.
