Question: If I drive my mom's car without her knowing and get caught what would happen?
Answer: If you mean that you have taken your mom's car without her permission, Arizona Revised Statutes 13-1803 would call this the crime of "unlawful use of means of transportation." This means the taking of a person's car without their permission, without intending to steal or keep it.
It would be just a great a crime to take your parents' car without their permission as to take any other person's car, even a complete stranger.
This crime in Arizona is a Class 5 Felony, which is punishable by up to 1 1/2 years in jail.

I ain't proud of it but I took my parent's vehile out joyriding with a friend and let my friend drive and he wreched it.I had a learners permit at the time.I just got a seitation for taking a vehicle without permission and didn't get jailtime or anything because my parent's didn't press charges.I now hold a 16 year old's drivers license because a kind cop gave me a break. The West Virginia DMV says that a minor has to have 2 seitations in a year to lose their license or permit and I only had one.I am so grateful because now I have a job and am paying high car insurance because my friend wecked.
