Question: Is it fair that women get less money?

Answer: Absolutely not! It is not fair that there is a large difference in pay between men and women doing the same exact job. For many years this has been a debate and something that many women (and men) have tried to change. Women should be paid the same amount for doing the same job. To fail to do so is gender discrimination, which is against the law in the U.S. However, not many employers will admit that they are paying a woman less money just because she is a woman. Employers try to come up with other excuses but the reality is the same, women are making less money doing the same job as men.

Women are not more likely to leave the workforce to have children. They may take maternity leave, for a month, but it takes a special kind of weak woman to leave entirely. If the boss hires a woman he thinks might leave, then he'll just have to take that risk. He can equally lower everyone's wages to pay for the new employee. It takes a man to make a woman preg., so maybe the men should take less pay for causing the loss of a worker. Where does the constitution say that women should not be paid more than men? Does that mean that it's ok to pay  men more?

Obviously it's no fair, but think a minute: if the higher-ups really wanted that to change, it would have changed long before now. Worldwide, women put it over 2/3 of the total work hours and collect less than 10% of the total pay. The situation is better here, with about the same total working hours and a 33% gap (75 cents to the male dollar), but this is still inexcusable. Unfortunately, this is built into the fabric of the status quo, and no one with the power to change this *really* wants it to change. I don't know what to say except don't keep quiet: make noise & let people know about it!

The whole wage difference is such a big deal to me because i am a single mother tring to take care of my three year old daughter by myself. Her no-good-father wont take care of her so who will? I need to make more money so I can give her the best life possible. I dont want to see her dreams be crushed, just because I cannot afford to pay for it. It is unfair that men get all the money, and to do what? spend it on themselves rather than the children that they have.

I think the equality thing is the oldest put-down on woman that I have ever heard!!! We are absolutely just as strong as men , if not STRONGER at times! We deserve to be treated with the same amount of respect that the males do!!!!

just because getting paid more makes a man feel superior to his woman counterpart doesnt mean its right.your wage shouldnt be based on whats under your clothes but on your work ability."blank" says that a woman getting paid more for the same job would make a man feel inferior well 1.maybe man's being a little too selfish, and 2.dont you think a man getting paid more makes woman feel inferior.id like to finish off my statement by saying that us california girls can do any job as well as the next guy
