Question: If you are caught with a loud car stereo disturbing the peace, what is the penalty?

Answer: Disturbing the peace is usually a misdemeanor, which means you can be fined up to several thousand dollars and be placed in jail for several months. The penalties vary by state. Laws about loud music and disturbing the peace are usually city ordinances. For example, the City of Dearborn Heights Ordinance No. H-63-6 [2.5] in Michigan makes it unlawful to make or assist in making any noise, disturbance, trouble or improper diversion, or any rout or riot, by which the peace and good order of the city are disturbed. You could find out what your city's laws about car stereos and the penalties by calling the public information office of your local city.

If I blasted Poka music or any kind that you do not enjoy, you would be seriously annoyed. Loud music can and will make you lose your hearing at an early age. Just ask those old time Rockers that now can not hear. No one wants to hear your music. Forcing others to hear your noise if disrespectful of others. So have some RESPECT!!!!

Having a loud car stereo shoud not be illegal! Why can they write us tickets for playing it loud, but its not illegal to purchase the products. In my eyes, its just a new way for the government to suck more money out of the working man or woman. If someone has a problem with my music, roll your windows up. and if you think its too loud, your too old. Having a loud stereo is a trend in our generation and all previous generations; so i say this whats the difference Playing my music loud, and people talking on there cell phone or breast feeding in public, cause to me thats disturbing the peace.

What I have to say is this... with great power comes great responsibility. I work in the electronics field and although I don't sell electronics for cars , I do for homes. The home system I have is equal to or even surpasses those systems that you hear on the roadways. I used to live in a middle apartment between two others and I never had any complaints from any of my neighbors. That's because I took into account that there were others around me. The people who buy these things and abuse them have to be responsible for them. Blast it when your sure no one is around, otherwise keep it down.
