Question: Can an owner/manager of a trailer park deny a tenant a rental space or unit because of a felony conviction, even if the person has served his time?
Answer: Yes. Fair housing law requires that landlords not discriminate against prospective tenants based on race, gender, religion, national origin, handicap or age. Criminal history is not included in the Fair Housing Act. So, if the landlord applies the same application standards to all prospective tenants and it is the trailer park's consistant practice to deny space rentals to convicted felons, then they are allowed to control whether they rent to people with felony histories.

No Offense, but you have to understand that there are consequences to your actions (when you were younger). Hopefully someone will understand your plight, but a felony is a serious thing to a lot of law abiding people. Just because you were younger doesn't make it go away.

This is not right I am at this present moment leaving a 2 year lon program with a felony conviction. scince I have been in this program I have gotten a degree and had a daughter I am still looking for employment but no one wants to hire me because I did stupid things when I was younger and now you are telling me I will have to go through this to have a place for my daughter to call home as well.
