Question: Is a school bus under the direct supervision of the school board?

Answer: All services provided by a school, including transportation of students in school buses, are provided under the supervision of the governing board of the school district, which is also known as the 'school board.' The school board, however, cannot directly supervise its teachers, janitors, bus drivers and other employees because the board meets only once or twice per month. Instead, the school board hires a superintendent and school principals who are responsible for directly supervising all other school employees. If there is a problem with a school bus driver, the first course of action should be to contact the district administrator in charge of student transportation.

I found out today that I will not get a bus to school next week that they say I have to ride the city bus. That is a 1 1/2 hour ride in the morning and again in the afternoon. This is also not just one city bus but having to change buses. I live 10+ miles from the school. The school says they don't have to provide a bus for me. Is that true in AZ, that schools don't have to provide a bus?

Today the school bus never came, we were waiting for about two hours, and then i was finally able to get a ride.. i dont even know if the bus ever showed up.. IF students are expected to me on time to class, and work.. then administrators and school bus drivers should set an example by arriving on time, and not neglecting the students who wake up early and stand in the dark, in the rain.. just to catch a ride to school!!

We love our children and in concern for their safety on buses should educate first before reprimanding.
