    Question: Is it legal for a campus police officer to give a 13 year old a breathalyzer without contacting a parent first?

    Answer: Yes, an officer can legally give a sobriety test to a 13 year old student without contacting a parent first. Most officers would contact parents first, but it is not a legal requirement.

    I was once given a breatherlizor at the age of 13. My parents were called before the officer issued it to me, and they denied him the permission to give it to me. The officer went on and gave it to me anyways saying, "I don't really need your parents permission, I was just calling them to let them know what the situation is." So your right that they can give you a BAC without your parents permission!!!!!!!
