    Question: What is the maximum penalty for underage drinking?

    Answer:

    In Arizona, A.R.S. § 8-323 provides for the following penalties for a minor who purchases, possesses, or consumes, spirituous liquor:

     

    1. Probation

    2. A juvenile court hearing

    3. Driving privileges suspended for 180 days.

    4. Attendance at a counseling or education program.

    5. A fine of up to $500.00

    6. Community service work.

    7. If truancy is involved, a whole host of programs with parents.

    8. With a prior record that indicates delinquency, a whole other host of headaches.

    9. A stern talking to by the judge

    hi, my father is a justice of the peace and i found out that in texas aas long as you having a beer infront of your parents it's legal but they can not drink and you cant get drunk,now dinners and stuff like that its fine for you both to drink but you cant get drunk becuase your parents can be arrested on the charge of indangering the life of a minor, becuase it does effect your mind and body when your growing.i started drinking when i was 10 cuz i had a older brother who would let me and i luckily turned out allrightbut its not like that for everyone, in fact its not like that for most people

    I dont know how old the people are in this forem but most of you sound very mature and responsible. I agree to a certain extent that minors should be able to drink alchol. The only objection I have, other then Iresponsible drinking, is the health effects on a young persons developing mind and body. This is the same reason young people are encouraged not to smoke, or drink coffee. Not because we dont think you can handle it. Becasue of the posibility of adverse effects to you health.
