Question: What are the consequences for getting into a car accident with only a learners permit?

Answer: If you're driving with a licensed adult, the consequences will not be any different than anyone else with a license who is involved in an accident. But, if you're not driving with a licensed driver, then you face a 'driving without a license' ticket and possible fines.

I'm 16 years old and got into a car accident today.I only have my learner's permit but I had my mom in the car with me.The best advice that I can give anyone is to BREAK!Due to the fact that I put my breaks on, my car only got scratched. The other car ended up with a dent in it which my mom's insurance has to pay and I also have to go to court and pay a fine since it was my fault. There is a reason why there are laws and why people get cited for breaking them.Pay attention at all times and always be on alert.I let my guard done and that is why I got in an accident. If you do this you will be safe

I only have a permit and yesterday I crashed my car on an interstate highway. It's my car, but it's registered to my dad scince I don't have my license yet. The car has no collision coverage so I had it towed to my house to repair myself. No other cars were damaged except mine. Absolutely nobody was injured. State troopers showed up and ticketed me for being an unlicensed operator and for unreasonable speed. I had a 17 year old junior licensed passanger with me which will probably make this situation worse considering I risked my life and his. I have court soon and I can barely believe it all.
