Question: Can minors get pulled over solely for having super tinted windows? What is the legal limit for tinted windows?

    Answer:

In Arizona, anyone can get pulled over for violating the law concerning the tinting of windows. Arizona Law (A.R.S. § 28-959.01) says that any material on the window that lets through less than 33% of the light entering it is illegal.

I just got a window tint ticket yesterday. The invoice I have shows 33% (legal amt. in AZ), but the police officers device to measure light showed 12%, which in the first place, is impossible. So now, I get to pay $150 to have my windows scraped and re-tinted because his device was WRONG! And no one cares that I don't have $150 to fix tint when it isn't even too dark. My issue with tint tickets is this-where I live, the police officers have much bigger issues to deal with than the tint on my windows. Go out and catch some real criminals, and stop wasting my precious money and time.
