Question: I am pregnant and trying to get state assistance... will my father still have to pay child support for me if I am receiving help from the state?
Answer: Is your father paying child support to someone for you now, like your mother? Or, did you mean -- will the father of your baby still have to pay child support if you are receiving help from the state.
Let's assume your father is paying child support for you. Yes, he will still have to do that even if you are pregnant and receiving state assistance. The only thing that would change his support obligation would be if you turned 18. The question does not say how old you are, but I'll assume that you are under 18. As long as that is the case, your father would still have to pay support, regardless of whether you are receiving state assistance or not. The assistance from the state does not eliminate his obligation.
If your question meant will the father of the baby still have to pay child support even when you receive state assistance, the answer is still yes. He will have that obligation, and state assistance will not eliminate that either.
