    printer friendly version

Question: Can a parent block someone from getting a drivers license?

Answer: For a minor to apply for a driver’s license or instructional permit in Arizona, the application must be signed by at least one adult. The signers can include: one natural parent if married to the other natural parent; or both natural parents if not married to each other, but share joint custody; or, one natural parent with sole custody. The person who signed the application for a minor, as well as the person with responsibility for the minor, may cancel the minor’s license.

**This was put together with the help of the Arizona Motor Vehicle Division’s Driver License Manual

I dont think it should be the parents decision to choose whether or not we can have a license. If the kid passes the drivers test they should get a license, after that if they screw up when there out there driving around it should be up to the law to decide if they can have a license.
