Question: Is there going to be a new law taking place here in Arizona sometime in 2006(?) that you cannot be able to apply for a license until you are 18?
Answer: We are unable to find any current pending bills in the Arizona Legislature that would change the age to apply for a driver's license to 18. As of right now, the driving age is still 16.
However, you are encouraged to contact your legislator through the LawForKids.org Change It! feature to ask about possible future bills and to voice your opinion on this issue.

i heard that they made new laws saying that if u were under the age 18, then you are only allowed to drive with one other person in the car and you are not allowed to drive between midnight and 5am....
basically ways to avoid distrations..

You're kidding, right? Do you have any idea how many times I've avoided potential accidents with young teenage drivers? Look guys... the issue is not age. It's your level of distraction. EVERY near accident has been due to a teenager paying more attention to the phone, stereo or (usually) friends. It takes years to develop multi-tasking skills. The way someone drives at the test is far different from how they drive when they're having fun with friends. Look at the accidents that happen with teenagers and examine at the causes. Study the issue and make a mature arguement.. Just my view

It is wrong to change the age of applying for a drivers license to 18. The new law (if it does pass) is an outrage beyond anything else! This new law must never be allowed to go into effect. Rise up people and take a stand against this new law! FIGHT IT! Don't let Arizona *keep you from* getting a license 2 years before your supposed to!
