Question: Is it legal to keep a baby chick as a pet where I live? (Phoenix, Arizona)
Answer: According to the Phoenix codes - Chapter 8 someone can not keep poultry unless certain distance regulations are met and other restrictions. For example, with the written permission of all your neighbors (and the owners if the neighbors are renters) and with a distance of 80 feet from any of the other houses you may keep poulty (chicks are poultry) but they have to be kept restrained and not in the front yard. See this website for the exact codes - http://www.municode.com/resources/gateway.asp?pid=13485&sid=3
