Question: Are there any Host liability laws in Arizona?

Answer: The answer is NO. Dram shop liability, which holds bars liable for injuries to third persons caused by intoxicated patrons, does not extend to social hosts. The host has no duty NOT to furnish alcohol to protect third persons who might be injured by an intoxicated guest.

But wait, your parents aren't off the hook just yet. A social host who illegally furnishes alcohol to minors is subject to liability.

So when you tell your parents the answer to this question, tell them that not only is it against the law to serve alcohol to people under 21, parents can't serve alcohol to underage people without accepting legal responsibility and liability for anything that might go wrong.
