Question: What is the punishment for reckless driving and six counts of public endangerment?

Answer: Reckless driving is a class 2 misdemeanor which is punishable by up to 4 months in jail, up to 2 years probation, and a fine of up to $750.00. In addition, your driving privileges could be suspended for up to 90 days. If you have a prior conviction for negligent homicide, manslaughter, or a DUI, reckless driving becomes a class 1 misdemeanor and you must serve at least 20 days in jail before you are eligible for probation, you may be fined up to $2500.00, and your drivers license will be revoked.

Endangerment is a class 1 misdemeanor which is punishable by up to 6 months in jail, up to 3 years probation, and a fine of up to $2500.00. However, if you endangered someone to the point there was a substantial risk of death, the crime becomes a class 6 felony, which is punishable by up to 1.5 years in prison, up to 3 years probation, and a fine of up to $150,000.00, yes, that's $150,000.00.

I do not believe it is reckless driving, unless there were other people around you. Cause you may have think you were in control, but something could have gone wrong and you could have hurt people. But as far as your situation I believe that the cop was a little harsh.

You deserved that speeding ticket, cause you could have killed other people while driving through red lights going 80 miles an hour. You should have pulled over and see if he would have passed you, and if he did not then you should get out of the car and see what that person needed. Usually they were have some form of identifcation on you. And if he does not then proceed to leave. But I can also see that it was a little scary for you, and it could have been a nut job, so next time just not cause a sceen where you can take the life of someone else and even yours

You are probably going to get a wreckless driving ticket, and if you have any on your record already you will probably serve some jail time. But if not you will probably serve a hefty fine and maybe even get your license provoked for awhile. You will definitley get a speeding ticket. I think you will be all right if this is the first time it happened. You will probably be paying a big fine, and have no license for awhile, and your insurance will probably go up.

I was chased by a person (who I did not know was an off duty cop at the time) in a red pickup truck, going down the freeway, and i got scared for my life thinking he was some kind of nut with road rage, so i ran a red light going 80 mph in a 45, and hit 2 cars. The police gave me a reckless driving charge and a date to appear in court.
