Question: What is the punishment for reckless driving and six counts of public endangerment?

Answer: Reckless driving is a class 2 misdemeanor which is punishable by up to 4 months in jail, up to 2 years probation, and a fine of up to $750.00. In addition, your driving privileges could be suspended for up to 90 days. If you have a prior conviction for negligent homicide, manslaughter, or a DUI, reckless driving becomes a class 1 misdemeanor and you must serve at least 20 days in jail before you are eligible for probation, you may be fined up to $2500.00, and your drivers license will be revoked.

Endangerment is a class 1 misdemeanor which is punishable by up to 6 months in jail, up to 3 years probation, and a fine of up to $2500.00. However, if you endangered someone to the point there was a substantial risk of death, the crime becomes a class 6 felony, which is punishable by up to 1.5 years in prison, up to 3 years probation, and a fine of up to $150,000.00, yes, that's $150,000.00.

You know I have gotten 3 tickets already. Following to close, failure to yield, and speeding. Might I add these were all in the same year. It took this long for me to realize when I'm driving and think about doing something I say to myself its just not worth it...

This is a interesting story, I'm curious and nervous how it will turn out in court. My senior homecomming dance, my dad finally lets me drive his 1988 Porche Carerra 4 to the dance. My date and I are on the way to the dance and we are stoped at a light. A friend of mine pulls up next to us and revs his engine, he was driving an Acura. I figured it was harmless to rev the engine back and to "show off the car", the light turns green and we drive away. About two miles down the road I get pulled over by a cop and end up getting a ticket for engaging in a acceleratoin contest. 12 points. The office

I got pulled going 91 in a 55. I had no idea i was traveling this fast, i was tired, it was 10 pm, and there were no cars around for me to judge my speed. Still this is no exuse. I was pulled in a country type county just outside of richmond,Va. , Amelia county. i am also trying to figure out what punishment could be involved. i have heard that a reckless could get your license taken for up to 90 days, and a fine of up to $750.00 .

I'm 18 and have a perfect driving record. I was pulled over on highway 58 in Va coming from Norfolk. After being lost for 7 hours, driving for 36 hours straight, dropping off my brother at the Naval base and not eating for 2 days straight, I got pulled over for doing 78 in a 55. I don't know what's going to happen. Pray for me... God bless you all!
