Laws to protect children are there to do that - protect children. Individuals who are not yet mentally or physically mature. These laws are needed to help guide and instill healthy habits in the young. Children should not have the opportunity to "learn for themselves".
Only adults should be burndened with having to learn for themselves. If an ill-informed, ignorant adult doesn't want to wear a seat belt and die ok. Their horrible decision to make. Children shouldn't get to make that decision.

i think the law would let the teens experience things ofr themselves and if it causes trouble the the law can handle it but you shoupd not get into trouble for haveing a ciggrett in your hand if your parents know about it then the law should not do anything but you should not smoke in front of little kids cause they will want to grow up to be like you and that is bad for a little kid to see
