Question: Is it fair that women get less money?

Answer: Absolutely not! It is not fair that there is a large difference in pay between men and women doing the same exact job. For many years this has been a debate and something that many women (and men) have tried to change. Women should be paid the same amount for doing the same job. To fail to do so is gender discrimination, which is against the law in the U.S. However, not many employers will admit that they are paying a woman less money just because she is a woman. Employers try to come up with other excuses but the reality is the same, women are making less money doing the same job as men.

women are as strong as men, and they should get the same amount of money. people always made it sound like they are just baby makers and cooks. well I can prove that they work as hard as men. I know that I am stronger and smarter than other men. Also I know some men that are as strong and smart as I am. women and men are the same and they should be treated the same.

Consider a few things here; 1. Women are more likely to leave the work force in order to have children. This turnover is an expense to employers, since hiring a new person and training them and bringing them up to speed costs money. And it isn't uncommon for people to get different pay for the same job if one has more time in the workforce. 2. Women are less likely to major in the more lucrative majors such as business and engineering, contributing to a lower overall paycheck. Of course, there is also a sexism in the workplace (especially by older managers who got their degrees 30 plus

I think men like to get paid more because that is how it has always been. 100 years ago, men were the only ones to work, and they provided for their family. Men feel important and satisfied when they are the provider. Most of the top positions are filled by men, because women have not had enough time to work their way up. When women are paid more than men, the men feel incompotent. According to the constitution, women should not be paid more than men, but it will be very hard to make men count women as equal partners in the workplace.
