Question: If I have to go to court for shoplifting and I have a child to take care of will the judge most likely not sent me to jail?

Answer: Whether you go to jail will depend more on your past record than your home situation.

Ultimately a judge will decide the penalty for your shoplifting. The judge will make this decision after considering all the information presented about your case, including your living situation. It is unlikely that you will have to go to jail if this is your first shoplifting offense and you have a clean prior record.

Everyone makes mistakes, even no it is a big mistake, we all no she relizes that she made a big mistake and that she needs to think about what she has done. Even no she should have thought about it before she had done, she could of thought about her child and what could happen, things that have happened in the place, she prolly had a plan of what she was doing when she was in the store. She should have thought about it more. but everyone makes mistakes thats all i have to say.

Hi, I just would like to say that we do not know what a person is having to face in life. We all do stupid things. We can forgive people for their mistakes.

It is very easy to judge someone else when we are not the ones on trial. However, unless you understand the entire situation of the person who broke the law, you are not in a position to pass any type of judgment. Every human being has a breaking point. This does not justify wrong-doing; however, since not one person is free from wrong-doing, including those who have the legal right to judge, we need to be careful in our judgment of others. One day, the ones who judge may ultimately be judged by others. There by the grace of God go I.

If you have a child to take care of, then why did you do a stupid thing like shoplift? Did you know that it is illegal? When you have a family to take care of, you do not go around committing senseless crimes. Do you really think the judge cares about your situation? You can't just use a situation to get out of the consequences. You must be aware of the consequences of your actions.
