Did the concept of contraceptives ever cross your mind? Maybe if we talk openly about sex, and teach them how to protect themselves from pregnancy and disease, there wouldnt be an issue. Further more, is teen pregnancy the REAL reason for statutory rape laws?

Personally, I believe that if you are old enough to decide,
that you can handle the consequences to your actions, you are old enough to do what you like. If you're over 16, then no one will make a big fuss. Unless your parents feel the relationshp inappropriate, and they press charges, then your lover is in trouble.
16 years old and 40 years is a no go.
I believe that you can sleep with someone up to 4 years older or younger legally.
