Question: What would the punishment be if someone shoplifted?
Answer: The punishments differ from state to state. In Arizona, shoplifting can be a misdemeanor or felony, depending on the amount of the item taken, the type of item taken (firearms are always a felony) and whether the person has a previous criminal record. For a juvenile in AZ the punishments can include probation, payment of fines, jail for up to one year, commitment to Juvenile Corrections or a treatment facility. It depends on the state and how the judge in court would handle the crime.

i shoplifted but after words i felt very bad and did not want to get into trouble.i wanted to bring everything back tot the place i got it from but i was scared i wish i never took it its not worth the trouble and being scared all the time like i am. because i alaways think im gonna get arrested. if that happenes my mom would kill me.so people its not a good idea to shoplift. i wish i could talk to someone that could help without my parents knowing.

I got busted for shoplifting and now I might have a 90 day probation with a 7 o'clock curfew and community service and I'm watched by a surveillance officer and I have like 3 different PO's! Believe me, shoplifting isn't worth all that! And alos, I have to take drug tests and I have to be at school to every class on time with good behavior or I won't be accepted into diversion (90 day probation) and 'll be put in Juvenille Prison for a few months and released on a years probation! If anything don't ever shoplift because all my consequences really suck and I wish I would have never done it!
