Question: How old do you have to be to be sent to juvenile detention?
Answer: To be sent to juvenile detention you have to be at least 14 years old. However, you could be tried as an adult even as a juvenile and be sent to adult prison instead.

As someone who has worked in juvenile detention the correct answer is 8 years old. At the age of 8 you can be detained at the juvenile detention center.
